Dragon Boat Festival
Quebec Cup Dragon Boat Festival 2024
Dragon Boat Festival
In 2024, the International Education Help Organization (IEHO) proudly sponsored the prestigious 22Dragons Dragon Boat Club and participated in the Quebec Cup Dragon Boat Festival. This event presented an extraordinary opportunity to showcase our organization, engage with the local community, and celebrate cultural diversity.
Sponsorship and Collaboration
Our sponsorship of 22Dragons highlighted IEHO’s commitment to fostering community spirit and teamwork. By supporting one of Montreal's most vibrant and inclusive sporting events, we underscored the values of collaboration, perseverance, and cultural exchange that lie at the heart of our mission.
Engaging the Public with Chinese Traditional Games
At the festival, IEHO organized a dynamic booth that combined the excitement of the dragon boat races with the charm of Chinese culture. Visitors immersed themselves in various Chinese traditional games such as:
- Pitch-pot (投壶): A test of precision and patience that brought smiles and laughter.
- Tangram Puzzles (七巧板): A creative challenge for players of all ages.
- Ruili Ball (瑞利球): A lesser-known game that captivated both children and adults.
Promoting Cross-Cultural Understanding
The interactive nature of these activities allowed us to bridge cultural gaps, sparking curiosity about China’s rich history and traditions. This aligns with IEHO’s mission to promote educational and cultural exchange.
Outcome and Impact
The festival was an overwhelming success. Our booth attracted a steady stream of visitors eager to learn about IEHO and Chinese culture. Many expressed gratitude for the opportunity to explore new traditions and showed interest in our educational initiatives.
Looking Ahead
IEHO looks forward to participating in future cultural and sporting events, furthering our mission to connect people across cultures while promoting education and mutual understanding.
