IEHO "Key to the Future" Event
IEHO "Key to the Future" Event
Event Overview
The "Key to the Future" event, hosted by the International Education Help Organization (IEHO), aimed to create an interactive platform for students, parents, and teachers to discuss academic planning and educational innovation. The event explored the unique aspects of Quebec and Canadian education systems through diverse perspectives and discussions. It provided participants with a better understanding of educational pathways from elementary school to university, strategies for overcoming academic challenges, and enhanced adaptability to the educational system and social life.
Event Highlights
The event was divided into three parts, focusing on the perspectives of students, teachers, and parents.
Student Perspective
In the student session, speakers shared their journeys from elementary school to CEGEP, discussing how they coped with academic stress and made decisions about their educational paths. IEHO team member Bingqing Lü, a Commerce student at Dawson College, shared her story in three parts: transitioning from elementary to high school, moving on to CEGEP, and the support she received from her parents. Despite the challenges in academics and life, her perseverance was truly inspiring.
Teacher Perspective
Mr. Dong from the Montreal Chinese Service Center shared insights on the Canadian and Quebec education systems, emphasizing their unique features, teaching philosophies, and methods. He also discussed how these systems help students develop academically, socially, and culturally. Moreover, he addressed the common challenges faced by immigrant families in education and explored ways schools, communities, and especially families can support children's growth.

Parent Perspective
During the parent-focused session, Principal Grace NGL highlighted the crucial role of parents in academic planning and how they can support their children's growth. She provided practical strategies for helping children adapt to the Canadian education environment.
Startup Team Showcase
The event featured two student startup teams from McGill University—Coloré and Pickteats. Their presentations brought fresh educational innovation ideas to the audience, encouraging the younger generation to pursue their dreams and create the future.
Raffle Draw
To liven up the atmosphere and add an element of fun, IEHO organized several rounds of raffles, including third, second, first, and grand prizes. The raffles not only provided exciting rewards but also enhanced the audience's engagement and enjoyment.
The Mission of IEHO
The International Education Help Organization (IEHO) is a nonprofit dedicated to educational support. Their mission is to help students and families navigate the local educational environment through a student-helping-student approach. IEHO offers a wide range of services, from admissions assistance and tutoring to translation services and parent-teacher meeting support.
IEHO President Jianshuo Wang, the lead organizer of the event, stated:
"We are a newly founded nonprofit educational support organization. Unlike large companies with significant funding, we emphasize and implement the idea of students helping students. Having personally experienced the Canadian and especially Quebec education systems, we believe in building strong connections with our peers. We deeply understand the challenges faced by everyone, and with collective experience, knowledge, and passion, we aim to create meaningful projects that provide practical help and make a real difference."
